Year in Review: 2023 MileOneCares Highlights

MileOne, through our philanthropic program MileOneCares, is committed to making lives better in the communities where we live and work and 2023 was no exception! By the end of 2023, we plan to donate approximately $2 million dollars in support of our continued efforts to provide access to safe transportation, strengthen our communities, and support our employees.

As we head into the season of giving, read on for some MileOneCares highlights from this past year at Hall.

CAR SEAT SAFETY & DISTRIBUTION EVENTS

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that child safety seats reduce fatal injury by 71% for infants younger than a year old and by 54% for toddlers in passenger vehicles. This is why we partner with Children’s Hospital King's Daughter to hold Car Seat Safety and Distribution Events at our area dealerships to provide free car seats and installation education to those in need. This year, we’ve impacted over 1,000 families company-wide, many of whom were from Hampton Roads, Elizabeth City and Charlotte. We look forward to continuing these important events in 2024.

DRIVE SMART Virginia

In partnership with DRIVE SMART Virginia's Distracted Driving Program, MileOneCares visits local area high schools to educate teens on the dangers of distracted driving. Students participate in a virtual reality texting and driving simulator, an impaired driving cart course, and sign our Buckle Up, Phone Down pledge banner. Over 1,200 students in the Virginia Beach area participated in this program.

3RD ANNUAL HALL FOOD DRIVE

For the third year in a row, Hall is collecting donations to benefit local area food banks during the holiday season. Over the past 2 years, donations have totaled over 4,200 lbs and provided over 3,000 meals to area families in need. We’re accepting donations at local area dealerships through December 7, 2023 and hope to impact even more families this year!
