What's New for 2026?
Jeep brings an entirely new design from the ground up for its 2026 Cherokee. The 2026 Cherokee offers a familiar Jeep silhouette but brings all sorts of improvements, like more cargo space, a roof rack that now comes standard, and a hybrid-only powertrain. Jeep retired the Cherokee for a few years, having last produced the popular SUV in 2023. Jeep brings the model back to streets and trails with a totally new design for the 2026 model year.
Real World Performance
All trim levels of the 2026 Jeep Cherokee are outfitted with the same hybrid motor and drivetrain setup. A 1.6-liter gasoline engine works with a pair of electric motors to produce a combined 210 horsepower. The motor is supported by a continuously variable automatic transmission, and all Cherokee models also feature all-wheel drive standard. The Cherokee is capable of producing 230 lb.-ft. of torque and towing 3,500 pounds. Drivers may choose from four different trim levels of the Cherokee, each offering different standard and optional features. Trim levels include Base, Laredo, Limited, and Overland.
Inside the cabin, the Cherokee offers 31 cubic feet of storage space behind the second row of seats and seating for five. With the second row of seats folded down, cargo capacity increases to 68.3 cubic feet. With its efficient hybrid motor setup, drivers can expect a combined 37 miles per gallon for fuel efficiency, which means around 42 MPG during city driving and 33 MPG during highway driving. On a full tank, Jeep expects its new Cherokee to reach 500 miles of range.
